The Battle Of The Some

Today we got to create a DLO about the battle of the some. The people I have worked with was Julian and Joel. What this is linked to is our WW1 DLO for inquiry. What my group and I  have done was read an text about the battle of the some and than answer the question on the next two slides with some evidence from the text. 

Did I Miss Anything?`

Today we got to create an animation for reading. What we did for this animation was we got to illustrate it and use one verse form a poem. The people I have worked with was Hajera and Nickaela. What I really like about doing this activity is I got to illustrate a verse from an interesting poem. What this animation is about is students waiting for the teacher.

Formal and informal writing

Formal -

It is my opinion that this litter is a health hazard. For example, yesterday a year 4 boy fell over and cut his hand on a broken bottle. The boy in question needed four stitches

Informal -

How are you?. I’ve been dead busy since your last letter. We have to work really hard at school to get ready for our PAT tests.

Today we got to do reading. What we did was see what you should and should not put in a formal and informal writing. What formal means is when having the form or appearance without the spirit and what informal means is when you are having a friendly or relaxed manner. What I have done was take a informal and formal sentences and turn it to examples. What I really like about this task is it shows us what the difference is between informal and formal.

Word Finding

Today for reading my group Ponui and Pakatoa were learning about features of a visual book that are in the same series of books. The features on these two book was the caption or the inset. What we did first was looked for different parts in the book so we can put labeled arrows on it. The books we were reading was Manmade World and People on Earth. 

Word Finding

Today in Reading my group Ponui got given different words to place on different pages. Our first page we did was the Index. What my group did was we talked to each other and collaborate with Pakatoa. What we also did was we picked a page and than label it with some arrows. The book we read was Great Scientists.

Wheel Words

        

Today for reading my group got to do Wheel Words. How you play wheel words is you need to use the middle word in each letter if it is in the Middle, front or at the end. The middle word I use was R. The hints I have used was only three hints. I got 11 out of 25. What I really like about wheel words is that I get to learn new words.  

Eels DLO

For Reading we have been working on our DLO for key into evaluation. As you can see I have been working on my eel DLO. What my DLO is about is How to fish for a eel than some pictures with some interesting facts.What I really like about this DLO is how I can explain how you can fish for eels and I also learned more about like how there are 400 species eels. 

Read Theory

Today I got to look at my results for Read Theory. What I did was I set a goal for me to achieve and that goal was to get to grade four but I didn't and I tried to achieve this year but I didn't so I'm going to try and set it again so I can try to achieve before term three ends. As you can see I only got one four. What's challenging for me is that i'm trying to get a passing score but I keep on failing. How Read Theory  works is that when you get a article you have questions and when you answer you get green if your correct and read if your wrong and finally at the end you get a passing or perfect score. What I really like about Read Theory  is it challenges people.

Mapping of NYC

Today for reading we got to make a DLO about where the Empire State Building is in NYC (New York City). What I did for my DLO was I got to look for Empire State Building on the map than I got to do five places that near Empire State Building that I would go to. What I really like about this DLO is that I get to be creative and I get to choose five places where I would go to.

Wheel Word

Today for reading my group got to do Wheel Words. What wheel words is is when you get to use the middle letter in every letter you make or in other words create. How you play wheel words is you need to use the middle word in each letter if it is in the Middle, front or at the end it needs to be in your letter and you need to make a word that is a word that people should know. The middle word I use was M. What I really like about Wheel Words that it teaches us new words. The hints I have used was only one hint. I got 2 out of 38.

Facts about geese

Today I decided to finish my DLO about geese. What I did on this DLO  is that I added facts and pictures of geese. Next I chose to put a photo of a geese that is label. What I really like about my DLO is that I got to learn about geese. 

Read Theory

Today I got to do Read Theory. What I did was try and get myself to level four.  As you can see I have been trying to reach level four but I have been stuck on Level three. How you do Read Theory is that you can read different article and trey and get a perfect score or a passing score. What I really like about Read Theory is that I get to read different article and learn more about different countries.

Nz and Naval Flag

Last week I got to create a DLO about the NZ flag and how it was different to the Naval flag for reading. What I did was I wrote what is the differences and what is the same for the NZ flag and the Naval flag. Next I put some information about the coat of arms. What I really ;like about this Google Doc is that I got to learn more about the coat of arms and I also got to explain what is the same and the differences between the NZ flag and the Naval flag.

Making Connections

Today I got to do Making Connections for reading. What I did was fill in three boxes witch said Text to self , Text to Text and Text to world. For this task we did it on the book called I'm a Whip. What I really like about this is that I got to read an interesting book.

Wild Boar

Our learning today was about wild boars for reading. What I did for my DLO was write 5 interesting facts , what's so dangerous about wild boars and adding a picture. What my favourite interesting fact was that wild boars can reach 3 to 6.5 feet in length. What I really like about my DLO is that I got to learn more about wild boars.

Snowboarding vs Skiing

Today we got to make a DLO on snowboarding or skiing. What we did for this DLO was read an article to see witch one we should pick. Next we picked one and write three reason why we picked it. What I picked was snowboarding. The reason why I picked snowboarding is because I want to see how they move with there snowboard and how they stand up and make it look so easy. What I really like about making this DLO based on snowboarding is because I find snowboarding very interesting and fun.

10 Beginner Skills For Snowboarding

    

Today we got to list 10 skills you can learn in snowboarding. What we got to do was we got to put witch one is the easiest and which one is the hardest. I was partners with Mele. The reason why it is important to learn these skills is for our saftey. What I really like about making this Google Doc is because I got to learn different skills about snowboarding.

Read Theory Progress

Today I got to do Read Theory for reading. What I did for Read Theory was read different types of articles but try to get a perfect score or a passing score. What Read Theory is it helps me more on my reading and it is a good reading tool. What I really like about Read Theory is that it is challenging and I get to read different types of articles and some are very interesting. I have a graph that shows my progress on Read Theory.

5 main points - 1988

Today we got to have time finishing our work. The work I decide to finish first was my 5 main points for reading. What I did for the 5 main points is that I got to chose a year and write what I think the 5 main points is from that year. The year I have chosen was 1988 because I thought it would be interesting and I can also learn something from it.

5 main point -

Our learning for today was reading. What Brooklyn and I did for reading was the 5 main points. What we did for the 5 main pints is we got to look on a site and try to look for the 5 main points. The year Brooklyn and I did was 1976 because we wanted to learn about that year and because we find 1976 Winter Olympics interesting. What I really like about making this 5 main points DLO is that I got to learn about a new year and what sports they did.
