Tech Reflection

Today we went down to Tamaki College. Today was the last session of graphics , art  and pewter casting. What my group did for graphics was we got to draw a flower or a cubes or a star but we got to use a compass tool. When we use the compass we got to draw a circle than we got to draw one of the tree things we were allowed to draw. Next we colour it in. The design I have chosen was a flower. What I really like about graphics is we get to do fun things.

Nz and Naval Flag

Last week I got to create a DLO about the NZ flag and how it was different to the Naval flag for reading. What I did was I wrote what is the differences and what is the same for the NZ flag and the Naval flag. Next I put some information about the coat of arms. What I really ;like about this Google Doc is that I got to learn more about the coat of arms and I also got to explain what is the same and the differences between the NZ flag and the Naval flag.

9x time tables DLO

Today I got to create a DLO about the 9x times table. What I did was I explained how I solved a problem and got to write a problem form the 9x time tables. Next I wrote the 9 time table and than I did step by step how I solved the questions. What I really like about my DLO is that I got to show my understanding about my 9x time tables.

Making Connections

Today I got to do Making Connections for reading. What I did was fill in three boxes witch said Text to self , Text to Text and Text to world. For this task we did it on the book called I'm a Whip. What I really like about this is that I got to read an interesting book.

Fake Iphone Text Message

Today my whole writing group got to use this site called Iphonefaketext.com. What we did was use two people names and start a conversation but use speech marks and punctuation.  How you use this site is you start the conversation and press sent than you reply and press received. What I really like about this is that I got to pretend that I was messaging someone.

Wild Boar

Our learning today was about wild boars for reading. What I did for my DLO was write 5 interesting facts , what's so dangerous about wild boars and adding a picture. What my favourite interesting fact was that wild boars can reach 3 to 6.5 feet in length. What I really like about my DLO is that I got to learn more about wild boars.

Word Cline

Today we got to do a Word Cline that was based on one word. What we did was pick on word than change it to more powerful words. The person I have been working with is Joel. The word Joel and I have chosen was active. What Word Cline means is one word building  into more powerful words while moving up the Word Cline. What I really like about my Word Cline is I got to use more powerful words.

Metaphor

On Thursday we got to make a DLO on what metaphor means. My favorite metaphor is "Her heart is gold". What I did for my DLO was do some examples and do what metaphor means. What I really like about this DLO is that I got to pick some examples to do and be creative with this. 

Tech reflection

Today we went down to Tamaki college and went to three different stations. One of them were graphics, art and pewter casting. What my group did was graphics. What my group did for graphics was we got to draw our design we were going to make with the 3D printer and than colour it. What I choose to make was Bay - Max from the movie Big Hero six. What I really like about graphics is we can make any design of our choose for a phone holder and we even get be creative with it.

Kiwi Sports

Today we got to play touch for kiwi sports. What we did in kiwi sports was we went into three teams and two teams got to vs each other while the other team could watch. Each team had 8 players in it. The team that kept on winning was the non bibs. The other game we played was when we got to practice our passing skills. What I really like about this kiwi sports lesson was how we showed good sportsmanship. 

Kiwi Can

Today in the morning Group A went to kiwi can. The people who were teaching were Mrs Lilly and Mr Matt. The theme was about integrity and the topic was on how to make good choose and how you can solve bad choose, What we did was we played two games opposites and dough ball. How you play opposites is if the person who is leading puts there hand in you got to do the opposites ( put your hand out). How you play dough ball is you have to throw at the other team to win but if you get hit you are out. What I really like about kiwi can is how we all work as a team.

2 day wonder

Winter-verse 1

Yesterday morning I woke up moaning with anger my feet were

still and there was no sound that I could hear from

outside.I stared outside the window looking

at how hazy it looked

outside, birds were asleep, streets were

silent and no sign of people walking on a quiet

day. My feet were freezing in bed and I couldn't smell

anything coming from the kitchen.

Summer- verse 2

Today I woke up feeling Indulgent and light hearted that my infection

has disappear I got out of bed and ran

to my uniform that was hanging

delightfully on the line. I had smelled my

breakfast coming towards

my room so I ran too the kitchen and I ate my breakfast

outside feeling the nice breeze

and I could see my bike waiting nicely by the garage.

Our learning today was to write a poem about how we would of felt if we were unwell and when we feel better the next day. The person I have been working with was Joel. What Joel and I did was write how we would of felt if we were sick and we felt better the next day. What I really like about this poem is it explains how people feel when they are sick and when they feel better.

Body System

Today for inquiry we got to learn more about the human body. What we got to do is play a game about the human body. How you play this game is you have to put all the parts were it needs to go. What I really like about this is I got to learn more about the human body.

Parts of my body

Today I got to make a DLO on the human body. What this DLO is about is the body parts that you have. What I have done is do one side Samoan and the other side English. What I really like about this DLO is it shows what the body part is name and I got to be creative with it.

Homonym

Yesterday we got to make a DLO about homonym. What homonym means is when two or more words that are spelt the same or sound a like but means the complete opposite. E.g ball means I am playing with the ball and ball means when girls wear dresses and boys wear suite. What we did was we did some examples and the meaning of homonyms in other words definition on our DLO. What I like about making this DLO is that I got to learn about homonyms.

Kiwi Can

Today in the morning we got to have kiwi can with Mrs Lily and Mr Matt. What we did in kiwi can was learn how to making good choose and play fun games. What I really like about kiwi can is that I get to learn more things every time we go to kiwi can..

How to survive a cow attack?

our learning for today was make a DLO for reading. What we did was we got to make a DLO on a how to survive a cow attack?. What I really like about this DLO is that I got to be creative with this DLO.

Lung Capacity

To compare the lung capacity of students in LS2 we used one breath to blow up a balloon, then we measured the circumference of the balloon in cm. Then we could graph the results to compare them.

Transum

Today I got to play transum. What we did for transum was do the 6x tables. What I really like about this is how it was asking different question and I got to answer it very fast.

Mnumonic

For inquiry we are learning about the human body and we are using Mrs Gren. What Mrs Gren stands for is Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition. Is fire a living thing?. The person I have been working with is Nickaela. 

Nice Work

Never use the word stunning ,

our teacher said it doesn't mean a thing!

it will make her care but please don't use the word stunning it just doesn't

our learning for today was make a poem for writing. What we did was we got to make a poem on a word and than write work. The word I used was stunning and than I used synonyms in other words similar word to match stunning. What I really like about this poem is that I got to be creative with it and I also wrote a joke in my poetry as well.

Roller Skating

Today at lunchtime the yr 8's & 7's got to do roller skating. What we did was just practice some of the skill's you should do in roller skating like put your hands on your knees to make you stop , kneel and put one hand on your knee you are kneeling with and push your self up , make your feet into a v and not together. What I was trying to do was keep my balance.

The Unfinished Drink

Today we got to make a DLO about La Tour d'Auvergne (Ted) and the story behind the unfinished drink. What Joel and I did was use are smart searching skills and get some ideas to find out what happened with the unfinished drink. The unfinished drink was Ted's before he went to the war. Next we wrote a 25 summary about the unfinished drink. Than we went and search up the map of waimata (The place where the bottle is) and more.

Story Board That

Today we got to make a story board that about Hineahuone (first women) and a man named Tane Mahuta. What this story board is all about is how and why they created Hineahuone. The person I have been working with is Nickaela. What I really like about this is that it was really fun to create and to learn more about Hineahuone. 

Memorial

Today we got to learn about a interesting book called memorial. What we got to do was make a presentation and chose one slide to talk about. The slide I have chosen was the definition and a example of memorial. The person I have been working with was Nickaela. What I really like about this activity was I got to learn more about memorial.
